گرامر there is و there are

ما از there is و there are برای گفتن اینکه چیزی وجود دارد استفاده می کنیم. اما این دو تفاوت هایی هم با یکدیگر دارند. در اینجا به چند تفاوت there is و there are اشاره می کنیم.

 

شکل مثبت there is و there are

از there is برای مفرد و از there are برای جمع استفاده می کنیم

.There is one table in the classroom

There are three chairs in the classroom

.There is a spider in the bath

There are many people at the bus stop

 

از there is همراه با اسامی غیر قابل شمارش هم استفاده می شود.

There is milk in the fridge

There is some sugar on the table

There is ice cream on your shirt

 

گرامر there is و there are

شکل مخفف there is و there are

مخفف there is عبارت است از there’s ولی there are مخفف نمی شود.

There’s a good song on the radio

There’s only one chocolate left in the box

There are nine cats on the roof

There are only five weeks until my birthday

 

شکل منفی

There is not a horse in the field

There are not eight children in the school

There is not a tree in the garden

There are not two elephants in the zoo

گرامر there is و there are

هنگام صحبت کردن این دو تقریبا همیشه به شکل مخفف به کار برده می شود:

There’s not = There isn’t

               There are not = There aren’t

هنگامیکه بخواهیم بگوییم که از چیزی هیچی (صفر) وجود ندارد از there aren’t any استفاده می کنم

There aren’t any trees in my street

     There aren’t any people at the party

شکل پرسشی there is و there are

برای پرسشی یا سوالی کردن is / are را قبل از there قرار می دهیم.

 

Is there a dog in the supermarket? – No, there isn’t

Are there any dogs in the park? – Yes, there are

Is there a security guard in the shop? – Yes, there is

Are there any polar bears in Antarctica? – No, there aren’t

Is there any ice-cream in the freezer? – Yes, there is

 

اگر بخواهیم تعداد اشیایی را که وجود دارد بپرسیم از How many   استفاده می کنیم

How many dogs are there in the park?

How many students are there in your class?

How many countries are there in South America?

?How many Star Wars films are there

کاربرد there was /were

I’m hungry, but there isn’t anything to eat

من گرسنه ام. اما هیچی برای خوردن نیست.

When I got home, I was hungry but there wasn’t anything to eat

وقتی به خانه رسیدم. گرسنه بودم.اما هیچی برای خوردن وجود نداشت.

There is a good movie on TV tonight

امشب تلویزیون فیلم خوبی دارد.

There was a good movie on TV last night

دیشب تلویزیون فیلم خوبی داشت.

We are staying at a big hotel. There are 1250 rooms

ما در هتلی بزرگی اقامت داریم که 1250 اتاق دارد.

We stayed at a very big hotel There were 1250 rooms

ما در هتل بزرگی اقامت کردیم.1250 اتاق داشت.

Are there any phone messages for me today

ایا امروز برای من پیام تلفنی وجود دارد (هست)؟

Were there any phone messages for me yesterday

دیروز برای من پیام تلفنی وجود داشت؟

There is a train every hour

هر ساعت یک قطار وجود دارد.

There was a train at 11 o’clock

ساعت 11 یک قطار وجود داشت.
